Meryl Bennan

Meryl Bennan is a San Francisco-based culinary writer and
recipe developer who is convinced that you can be creative
in the kitchen without searching for exotic ingredients and
fussing with tricky techniques all day long. After graduating
from Cornell University, Meryl headed west to acquire hands-on
training in top-notch kitchens across the country. She landed
in San Francisco where she cooked at some of the city's finest
establishments including Bix and Hawthorne Lane, learning
the many "trade secrets" behind culinary artistry.
While she sometimes still misses those lengthy hours, late-night
shifts and dramatic executive chefs, she now prefers to work
out of her home kitchen, translating the tastiest treats from
her restaurant past into simple, concise recipes for everyday
cooks. Proving that California Ripe Olives are way more than
mere finger puppets, Meryl's column "The
Olive Dish" and her quarterly recipe contests will
supply you with imaginative ideas, starring these flavorful
little fruits, that will have your family cleaning their plates,
dish after scrumptious dish.
