The California Olive Industry Recipe Contest

Official Rules

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, simply visit the California Olive Industry ("COI") web site at www.calolive.org and enter your recipe on the official entry form on the web site. Complete the form by filling in all other required information, and submit it by clicking on the 'Submit' button. You may also enter by hand printing or typing your recipe on a piece of paper, along with your name, complete address, and daytime telephone number. The recipe must be original, must utilize California Black Ripe Olives, and must include complete instructions for preparation, readily available ingredients, standard measures, and the suggested number of servings. Ingredients must be listed in the order of their use. Mail entry to: COI, Dept. Recipe Contest, 1903 N. Fine, #102, Fresno, CA 93727. Online entries must be received by 12 Midnight. EDT, January 1, 2008. Mechanically reproduced mail-in entries will not be accepted. Online entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry.

  2. California Olive Industry ("Sponsor") is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, mutilated, misdirected or postage-due entries or mail, or for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this promotion which may limit the ability to participate or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this promotion. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or suspend the online portion of the promotion should an unauthorized intervention or other cause beyond the control of the sponsor affect the administration or proper conduct of the promotion.

  3. All entries, and any copyrights therein, become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering, each entrant agrees to abide by these rules, warrants and represents that his/her recipe has never been published, and grants to Sponsor the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use the recipe without further permission, notice or compensation.

  4. All eligible entries received will be judged by a panel of experts selected by Sponsor. The recipes will be judged based on originality and taste of the recipe. The judges will select one winner. The decisions of the judges with respect to the selection of the winner and in regard to all matters relating to this contest shall be final. Winner will be notified by mail.

  5. Two (2) Prizes: The winner of the recipe contest will: have his or her recipe published on the COI web site for three (3) months and a year's supply of California Ripe Olives 1 case (24 cans), retail price of $40.00. Prize will be sent by UPS. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.

  6. No cash substitution of prize allowed, except by Sponsor in event of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within fifteen (15) days of prize notification attempt or an alternate winner may be selected. By accepting prize, winner grants to Sponsor the right to use his or her name and recipe on its web site and in advertising and promotional materials, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  7. Contest is open to legal U.S. residents. Employees, and members of their immediate families, of Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates and their advertising, promotion and production agencies, are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law.

  8. The name of the winner will be posted on the COI web site for three (3) months following its selection. You may also obtain the names of the winners by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: COI, Dept. Recipe Contest, 1903 N. Fine, #102, Fresno, CA 93727.
